Inclusive & Disability Cycling

If you or a family member has a disability or long-term health condition, there are cycling opportunities in the city for you. 

Simply Cycling has a huge range of cycles including hand cycles, recumbents, tricycles, wheelchair transporters, cargo bikes and many more.  They pride themselves on enabling anyone to experience the joy of cycling. They run many weekly sessions in: 

  • Wythenshawe Park (from March) 
  • Boggart Hole Clough 
  • Longford Park

Access BMX  

The National Cycling Centre offers inclusive sessions for riders with physical and learning disabilities, SEND and additional needs. These sessions use BMX bikes, mountain bikes and some adapted bikes.

Limitless Sessions https://www.nationalcyclingcentre.com/track/para-cycling 

In partnership with British Cycling, the National Cycling Centre hosts paracycling sessions on the velodrome which are suitable for those 12 years and older with a visual or physical disability. These sessions primarily use tandem bikes.

LGBTQ+ cycling. 

Rainbow Riders is a LGTBQ+ cycling club in Greater Manchester. They’re all about inclusivity, making sure everyone feels welcome and free to join in the fun. They offer led rides, tours, and holidays as well as virtual cycling. Visit the Rainbow Riders website for more information
